Set beside a historic 1908 church, this spacious, recently renovated home offers three bedrooms and plenty of room to unwind after a day of adventure. With a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living spaces, and a warm, welcoming vibe, The Rectory is perfect for larger groups or families keen to explore the West Coast.

Seahen Lodge (sleeps up to 10)

SeaHen Lodge is a comfortable, spacious family-friendly retreat sleeping up to 10 guests, ideal for group stays. With generous living areas, a fully equipped kitchen, private gardens and verandas, and four well-appointed bedrooms including a king ensuite, it offers both privacy and flexibility. Discreet on-site hosts are available if needed, making it a relaxed and welcoming base.

Here are a few common questions to help you prepare for your Zeehan Quest.

The Zeehan Quest Adventure is a self-guided experience that invites you to explore the town through clues, stories, and locations tied to Zeehan’s history and landscape. It’s designed to be completed at your own pace and adds a layer of curiosity and play to your stay — no apps, no time pressure, just exploration.

The Quest is designed for adults and older teens who enjoy walking, problem-solving, and storytelling. You don’t need special knowledge or fitness — just curiosity and comfortable shoes. Participation is completely optional, and many guests enjoy doing part of the Quest one day and finishing it the next.

Most guests complete the Quest in 1.5–3 hours, depending on pace, stops, and how much time you spend exploring along the way. It can be paused at any point, making it easy to fit around meals, weather, and energy levels.

The Quest involves gentle walking around town and nearby landmarks. There are no steep climbs or remote hikes, and routes can be adapted to suit your comfort level.

The Quest is available to guests staying at participating accommodations in Zeehan. Details are provided after booking, with everything you need to begin once you arrive.

Zeehan is a historic mining town on Tasmania’s rugged West Coast, around 1.5 hours from Strahan and just over 2 hours from Cradle Mountain. The drive is part of the adventure, winding through rainforests, mountains, and wild landscapes. A car is recommended, as public transport options are limited once you arrive.

Yes — Zeehan is centrally located and makes a great base for exploring the West Coast. From here, you can visit Strahan and the Gordon River, explore rainforest walks, discover historic sites, or head underground at the Spray Tunnel. Many guests enjoy returning to Zeehan’s quiet charm after a day of adventure.

You will also be provided with everything you need to take part in the Quest to Track the Lost Ledger of John Long, including a double or family pass to The West Coast Heritage Centre.
